Long range being the easternmost part of the Slovenské rudohorie. The peaks are covered by dense forest.
Old mining area. Warm climate is good for wine plantations. A few skiing resorts (Plejsy, Kojšovská hol’a).
The highest and the most prominent peak: Zlatý stôl (1322m/472m).
